Nah, ini baru benar-benar review untuk Telegram.
Bismillahirahmanirrahim.

Sejujur-jujurnya, Along lewat menelaah Telegram.
Di hari pelancaran, yang Along kalutkan adalah untuk tidak ketinggalan memiliki Telegram.
Along selak sehelai dua muka surat, senyum puas hati dan mengomel pada penulis untuk turunkan tandatangannya.

Seminggu selepas hari itu, Telegram terbiar bersama-sama buku-buku lain, tak berusik di dalam kereta.
Payahnya jika kesana sini memandu sendirian.
Sehinggalah Ayah memandu kami sekeluarga pulang ke rumah Uwan di Port Dickson, Along fikirkan inilah masa sesuai untuk bacaan ringan di sepanjang perjalanan.

Telegram merupakan buku sulung Mosyuki Borhan, sebuah buku koleksi puisi yang beliau gelarkan 'puisi-puisi pop untuk sang pemimpi'.

Biarpun Mosyuki Borhan mula menulis di laman sesawangnya lewat September 2009, Telegram hanya memuatkan 73 puisi terpilih yang dirasakan istimewa untuk dikongsikan bersama para pemimpi luar sana.
Membaca prakata Telegram tulisan Wani Ardy, cukup buat Along jadi bangga pada kedua mereka.
Memiliki 'anak-anak' mereka setelah membaca tulisan mereka di ruang maya, lain benar perasaannya.
Rasa macam semuanya didedikasikan untuk Along, hee.

Puisi-puisinya pendek bersahaja tapi mengena.
Sesekali termenunglah juga dibuatnya.
Tapi menariknya puisi pendek Mosyuki Borhan adalah pada setiap 'punchline' dalam puisinya.
Diberinya kita 'bunga' pada awal rangkap pendeknya, diakhirinya kita dengan 'madu' punchline yang pekat melekat terus dalam hati.
Ayat punchline-nya yang kalau dibaca kuat hanya dalam satu nafas.
Dan kalau dibaca sendiri tanpa koma sehinggalah bertemu noktah.

Oh ya, Ayah juga sempat membelek Telegram (tanpa sengaja).
Ditanyanya pada Along macam-macam, seperti Telegram satu barang haram.
Ayah tanya yang mana satu antara puisi kegemaran; Along pilih Kalah Tipis.
Terus Ayah baca sedikit kuat tanpa diminta.

Kalah Tipis
melihat kau dengan dia
tubuhku bagaikan tersiat-siat pedih
adunan pekat garam dan lada pula dipipis-pipis

mungkin omelan bibir aku
sedikit jauh dari sayang dan kasih
kalaupun aku tercalon dalam perlombaan cinta aku tahu aku kalah tipis

Ayah senyum.
Katanya rangkap awal hanya pelengkap puisi, walhal isinya di rangkap paling akhir.
Seolah penulis memulakan puisi dari sepotong ayat yang satu ini baru diolahnya yang lain.
Along angguk senyum setuju, seperti baru lepas pemeriksaan kastam, lega Telegram ini Ayah beri restu.

Khabarnya, 100 cetakan pertama Telegram telah dimiliki (alhamdulillah) dan masih memenuhi permintaan para pemimpi.

Tafsiran diri sendiri terhadap satu-satu puisi Mosyuki Borhan jadi berbeza bila diiringi melodi.
Dengan kata mudah; ianya lagi memakan hati.

Dan ini, masih juga, bukan lagi satu review Telegram.
Bukan.

"Mananya kata nak review Telegram?"

Ingatkan Along untuk cilikan mulut cabul yang mengiya-setuju mahu me-review Telegram.
Pandai sangat, sekarang tergadah-lewat, tersenyum-senyumlah kau kelat.

"Telegram : Koleksi puisi-puisi pop untuk sang pemimpi" milik Along pun dah lunyai mengikut Along ke sana ke mari.
Dan sejujurnya, ini bukan draf yang pertama.
Yang diperam-padam berulangkali, entah kenapa.

Sukar untuk membuat review tanpa rasa bias, tanpa perlu meminggirkan rasa sukacinta pada hasil tulisannya.
Bertambah rumit pabila diberi kesempatan mengenali si penulis Telegram itu sendiri.
Kesimpulannya, seringkali Along cuba kaitkan tulisan dengan keperibadiannya, kehidupannya.
Ternyata ianya bukan diada-adakan, bukan fiksyen rasa semata.
Ia memang terjadi, rasa itu pernah wujud dan mungkin masih ada, wallahualam.

Biarpun dia yang Along tahu mahu Along jujur, if only he knew that my problem is writing it out loud.
(Dan mungkin ya, bermasalah dalam meluahkan secara lisan. Tahu menangis je.)

Along bukan Wani Ardy, bukan Adi Wafi, bukan Tun Boja Bistara (hanya memetik beberapa nama teman penulis) yang bisa susun atur kata sesedap rasa.
Atau Along saja yang bukan-bukan rasa complicated?
Heh.

Sebulan sebelum Telegram dilancarkan, tanpa rasa segan Along khatamkan isi kandungan ruangan mayanya.
Ya, Along lewat mengenali kewujudannya, sibuk melayan perasaan sendiri.
Dari pertama blog postnya di tahun dua ribu sembilan sehinggalah di bulan penulis melancarkan Telegram, kebanyakan puisinya dekat dengan diri.
Cuma ya, dari berbeza persepsi.
Yang Along rasakan... mana mungkin boleh sama rasa!
Mengenai soal hati yang berkelana tak bertepi.
Hingga timbul rasa dalam Along ingin padamkan semua kisah duka-luka nya, sungguh ~ hingga ke tahap itu.
Tapi itu naluri spontan diri sendiri, terbiasa begitu, mahu cuba bantu, walhal diri sendiri buntu.

Along jadi hafal -- mungkin tak semua, hanya beberapa puisi berhantu yang menjadi kegemaran hingga tak sedar begitu mudah mengaitkan lirik lagu dengan puisi-puisinya.

Dan mungkin 'menakutkan' dia dengan my sudden obsession, maaflah -- ada masanya Along di luar sedar namanya itu.

Tidak cukup dengan blog puisinya, Along diperkenalkan dengan video-video persembahannya.
Ada banyak bezanya membaca puisi bersahaja dengan pembacaan puisi yang diiringi irama.
Banyak beza.
Banyak.
Jadi terus masuk tepat ke hati sebelum otak dapat memproses segalanya.
Ya, emosi.
Dan kembali menangis sendiri, konon sangat memahami.

Konon?

Andai belum pernah rasa payahnya mencari apa yang perlu dibuat hanya untuk diterima dengan apa ada, simpan saja rasa konon itu.

Dan ini masih belum lagi satu review untuk Telegram.
Bukan.

Broga IV

Pasti ada istimewanya Bukit Broga sehingga Along datang lagi buat kali yang ke-empat.
Syukur diberi lagi kekuatan & kesempatan merasai berbeza pengalaman dan ditemani teman berlainan.

Bermula dari Broga(dhoc) tahun 2009 pertama kalinya, terima kasih Azie & Man! Kemudian diberi peluang membawa geng QK dua tahun kemudian, it has been truly awhile since all of us last met. Rindu!

Dan sekali lagi dalam tahun yang sama (ya, seperti tiada kerja lain), Along sekali lagi ke Broga bersama kebanyakannya rakan-rakan Twitter. Menariknya, we got a video to live by it! (Thanks Elmo!)

Dan paling terkini;
Selepas empat tahun tidak berjumpa dengan teman se-matrikulasi, Broga ku daki lagi.

Biasa-biasa saja Broga pada kalian, banyak istimewanya ia pada diri ini di setiap pendakian.

Biarpun kau tak mahu tahu (lagi), ini kau perlu tahu. Amat perlu, tahu?

Ada masanya senang bertemankan puisi yang bisa kisah-kiaskan rasa hati tanpa perlu memberi apa-apa diskripsi.
Biarlah bukan datang dari hati sendiri -- yang pasti caca-marba kosa kata;
Biarlah penulis percantikkan bahasa jiwa -- janji yang utama, kau rasa.

Kelayenan hadir menghantui lewat rasa ini, hanya bersandarkan pada puisi Tak Mahu Tahu yang ditulis Mosyuki Borhan.

February Contrary

It's February, finally.
Alhamdulillah.

And who would have thought that these two newlyweds are exactly a month old together today.
Barak Allahu Lakuma ya Sari Nashikim Radin Iskandar & Helmy Firdaus.

To be given the chance to be a part of your big day is like a surprise to our little circle of friends -- I'm beyond honored, just so you know. *bow*

I'm still bewildered by the fact that we started off as merely strangers during Wani Ardy's first Hari Bintang Jatuh back in 2008...

... but we get along well (alhamdulillah) with everything in between, the adhoc sleepovers, the late night drives from Shah Alam to Subang in our pyjamas, the little adventures we then single ladies have, the pillow talks, the everything -- we were living the life, even you & Wani were already attached at the moment.

(We do have a lot of pictures of us three, but this is the recent one, taken last 2010 -- just look how we blossomed well, sayangs!)

And not to forget (ever!) how Askar & Persetankan had kept us together over the years, even when we knew not all the time we could make it, but we were there, we were just there for each other. Subhanallah.

And with that, my dears;
Please don't ever say we have forgotten about you just because we never asked.
Okay?

BOCO'11 : Kethurusan Berayan

I'm writing this down, with hope the feeling won't go away, as I fear it to be when I finally click the "Publish Post" button.

But if I were to look back at what I did last 24th December 2011, I would be glad for putting it in my own words on how BOCO went by -- gosh, I'm smiling at the moment thinking of the happy day, of how things have changed since, how the little family of Askar expanded and how everyone was into it despite the daily commitments that they have -- just to make BOCO a success.

*pause*

Praises to the Al-Mighty.

BOCO (pronounced as Bo-cho quickly) is a Javanese word for the word Baca (read). Instead of using the infamous term Hari Bintang Jatuh that Wani Ardy came up for the last 3 years, we were ready to embrace BOCO as it is. Asalkan we were there together, any term is just a term.

BOCO saw the launching of Wani Ardy's first book entitled Langit Vanilla alongside Buku Fixi's Tabu & Kelabu and Telegram by Mosyuki Borhan -- it was truly a proud moment for all of us who knew Wani Ardy -- well, I was, even when I don't show it just that often as I should be.

*pause*

The day started as early as nine in the morning, where most of us only had a few winks prior to the preparations, but there we were, all happy and anxious altogether for the day that we've been waiting all this while.

The rain came pouring down but that did not dampen our spirit a bit. In fact, it saw some of our friends braving the rain with their motorcycles just to be there, vendors helping each other covering their little corners from the rain -- there was not a fuss of the sudden rain. I even overheard two guys talking; "Elok hujan ni, belum tahu rahmat Tuhan beri macammana lepas ni." I smiled to myself, thinking I'm so lucky to be surrounded by these grateful people.

The rain finally stopped. The crowd began filling inside Gravy Baby, all ready for BOCO to kickoff by Wani Ardy herself. And the day went by unnoticed, all I remembered was humble smiles, tight hugs and friendly laughters. Friends came from afar, as far as Perak, to support this humble event -- rushing between year end weddings, midterm examinations and the working Saturdays.

*pause*

Here's a glimpse of the memorial day -- where I could still feel the hugs, hear the laughters and the sing-along's and the exhausted yet accomplished faces of everyone by the end of the day.

To those who came and supported us before, during and after BOCO, on behalf of Wani Ardy and friends, I thank you from the depth of this humble heart.
Thank you.

We definitely won't be calling it an end, oh not yet, not for now --
So, see you around in the next BOCO, perhaps?

SIAPA YANG BOLEH MENJUAL?

Independent or established writers, musicians and filmmakers. Para karyawan DIY boleh turut sama menjual (para karyawan yang tidak bernaung di bawah mana-mana organisasi penerbitan; menghasil, mencetak dan menjual secara persendirian). Pemilik buku, CD dan DVD terpakai juga boleh membuat duit lebih.

BARANG JUALAN APA YANG DIBENARKAN?

Buat masa ini, BUKU, CD dan DVD SAHAJA. Lama atau baru. Berdaftar atau tidak. Semua boleh. Selain sistem jual-beli biasa, sistem barter pun boleh.

BAGAIMANA PROSEDUR HENDAK MENJADI PENJUAL?

Jika anda bergerak secara berkumpulan atau bersama organisasi, anda perlu menyewa tapak/meja (murah saja, jangan risau). Hanya emel butiran ke pasarboco@gmail.com. Jika anda bergerak secara individu (biasanya para karyawan DIY), kami sarankan gini: Buat kotak / bekas bertali, sangkut di leher, isi dengan produk anda (buku, CD, DVD), jual ke hulu-hilir macam orang jual burger di stadium. Kan style! ;)

Genap dua minggu sudah Wan pergi ke Tanah Suci Mekah, hanya Ayah saja yang lebih tahu perkembangan Wan di sana.

Wan ibu Ummi, tapi iya Wan lagi senang berhubung dengan Ayah.

Mungkin kerana Ayah pernah jadi petugas jemaah Haji, maka urusan jadi lebih teratur.

Ini bukan kali pertama Wan ke sana.

Cuma kali ini Wan kata, perginya Wan kali ini kerana Wan rasa terdaya lagi untuk ikhtiar cara akhir.

Bila ditanya ikhtiar apa, ikhtiar untuk siapa - Wan balas pendek.

"Untuk anak, cucu cicit Wan."

Wan senyum.

Along ingat lagi, saat semua orang berpelukan mencium tangan Wan, hampir semua menyuarakan hajat, meminta Wan mendoakan untuk mereka.

"Doakan untuk kakak sihat-sihat je time pregnant ni, Wan. Doa cicit first Wan ni tak banyak pe'elnya."
"Wan, tolong doakan untuk Ahmad, Wan. Ahmad nak kahwin ni hehehehehe."
"Wan, kita SPM tak lama lagi ni, tolong doakan untuk kita, Wan. Tau Wan? Tau?"

Wan tersenyum, sesekali tergelak melayan 13 cucunya ( tidak termasuk yang masih kecil dan tak mengerti apa-apa ) mengomel sambil bersalaman.

When it came to my turn, I knew I have to say something.
Everyone there was expecting I would, I bet everyone knew what I should be asking.
But I mumbled.
Close people around me knows how I'm not so used to ask for something, even when I need help, what more a favour.

Perangai orang yang tidak bijak ambil kesempatan, peluang bergolek terang datang.
Tapi Along memang, memang berat mulut.

Tunduk salam, cium tangan Wan.
Cium pipi kanan Wan, I whispered ; "Wan."
Cium pipi kiri Wan, I stopped.

Wan looked at me, smiling.

"I'll pray for you, Along. Depan Kaabah nanti, Wan akan doakan. Jangan risau. Wan akan doakan untuk Along."

As much I want to say a lot of things right that very moment, I could only afford to say "Terima kasih, Wan."
We hugged, and I could feel Wan patting me at the back, her way of reassuring me that she meant every word that she said earlier.

Along senyum.
Yang Wafi tak tahu, I was struggling, no, struggling is a strong word - lemme rephrase that.

Yang Wafi tak tahu, I was trying to re-read Two Months And A Day without getting too carried away.
Yeah, I'm easily influenced like that.
Especially when it comes to "I've been there, done that." situation.

I managed to re-read it, I did.
I started from the last page, for I just had to know the ending of TMAD.
Senang, tak perlu berteka-teki sangat.

Iya, pengakhirannya bukanlah satu happy ever after.
Ada sedikit rasa amarah, rasa benci yang naif.
Naif dan jujur.
Tapi itu normal, at least it is to me.
Simply saying, I felt what he felt.
Tapi ya, itu semua akan basi, pergilah mati.

Wafi showed how he felt in a book of poems.

Maka lahirlah Two Months And A Day.

Two Months & A Day (TMAD) merupakan jurnal puisi yang disusun-atur oleh penulis di belog beliau (waafee.blogspot.com) sepanjang perhubungan istimewa bersama seorang gadis comel, sang penambat hati ketika itu.

Daripada belog, beliau berhasrat untuk membukukan ke dalam satu naskah, yang beliau namakan sebagai Two Months & A Day atau Dua Bulan & Sehari.

Niat penulis pada mulanya hanya untuk suka2, sekadar untuk memuaskan hati sendiri. Namun setelah difikirkan kembali (dengan bertongkatkan nasihat sahabat karib), beliau mula menjadikan TMAD sebagai permulaan beliau membawa karya2 naif beliau ke makluman umum.

Alhamdulillah, TMAD kini telah terjual hampir 200 naskah dan masih mempunyai permintaan yang pro-aktif.

Terpaksalah mata menjeling cepat ke arah tangan Qis sebelum kembali fokus ke pemanduan.

Arriving India

We boarded the AirAsiaX D72506 on 21st May 2011, flight time 5.40pm. Despite checking in and dropping our luggages an hour earlier, we somehow managed to get our names being called out over the loudspeaker just because we were taking our own sweet time in the airport haha.

There was not much of a delay in our flight time, alhamdulillah. We were first seated accordingly and separated from each other but scurried to empty places, nearer to each other as soon as the pilot announced seat belts off. There were 9 of us for this trip and my first time meeting with some of the ladies. I sat in between Kak Nuha & Kikin and dozed off as soon as the flight took off.

I only woke up when I heard the stewardess started giving out our in-flight food. We had been flying almost 4 hours then, and the excitement just kept building up inside. I re-read the itinerary and still couldn't believe I was about to reach India in an hours time.

As soon as we landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport around 8.15 pm, it was drizzling and very cooling that we silently hoped it would stay that way during our stay there. Why? It was because we were informed that the places that we'll be visiting could reach to 44-45 degree Celsius!

We proceeded to the Immigration but we just can't help but to stop taking pictures every few steps. Typical us,eyh? But I won't spam this entry with it, I promise. (coz I had a hard time choosing which one too -_-")

Ini baru depan toilet airport dah bersakan foto ria ow yeah.

I once asked an ex-colleague who worked in India before how was the airport looked like and without a haste, he answered ; "Kau turun-turun je kapal terbang tu, satu airport bau kari. Dengan ramai orangnya, sesak ah airport tu." I would have believed him if I haven't been there myself. It was nothing like he described -_-" Even our KLIA could learn a thing or two from here, especially when it comes to securities. Very the strict!

As we headed out of the airport, we kinda expected our tour guide was already waiting for us. But he was a no show until Farina contacted him and we found out he was on his way, stranded a bit as the car park was quite far he claimed. So that gave us ample time to loiter around the exit/entrance gate.

The tour guide finally came (I forgotten his name) and asked us to board a shuttle bus. We had the shuttle bus to ourselves so imagine us being oh so chirpy inside. It was a good 4-5 minutes until we reached the parking lot. We saw our van - the van that will be used during our stay there - and started to glee excitedly!

Terang-terang kena cop tourist!

We were then brought to Oakland Hotel, a good 30 minutes journey from the airport. It started to rained heavily as we reached the hotel entrance so we decided checked ourselves in rather than you know, ambil gambar entrance hotel yada yada -_-"

And these are how our rooms looked like. Three person in each room, so we had an extra bed in the room. I shared the same room with Farina and Naemah -- roommates paling terbayek (sebab food rations/gedung ubat/info bergerak semua kat bilik ni haha)

To note, I was able to tweet around while we stayed in this hotel. Wireless paling terbaik ah sini, haha. Since we haven't got ourselves the local simcards, it was great enough that I was able to send an email to Ummi and Ayah, telling we have safely arrived.

We had a light dinner from what we packed from Malaysia and got ready to sleep around midnight. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that Indian's time is 2 hours and 30 minutes late than the Malaysian time. So yeah, in a way, we had our Subuh prayers at 4 am and get to sleep after it for a good 4-5 hours before starting of the day, hehe. Kalau kat Malaysia, konfem terlajak time pergi kerja.

Why India?

No I haven't quit the blog for good, not just yet. It would be so cliche to say that I've been busy with things, but sadly it's just that.

I finally got all the pictures from everyone's camera during the India trip -- well, almost. But it's sufficient enough to start blogging about it now, Long!

Oh yes, why India eyh?

Simple.
I've never been there yet.

And to receive an invite to join Farina and her friends (who are a bunch of avid and very the seasonal travelers by the way), it was like, an honor to me. We bought the tickets since last year, and I must must must thank Farina the most for ensuring everything, and I mean E-VE-RY-thing was included in the trip. From the simple things to the things that I never thought of bringing in a trip. And yes of course, with help from Soraya, Kak Nuha, Ili, Naemah, Kikin and the sisters, Kak Zura and Kak Nani.

Being the forgetful me, I just hope I won't miss out every details and the places we went -- that would be a spoiler much. So ladies of the India trip, help me out as I post the entries!

Incredible India : Part Ek (1)

So I've been away for quite awhile now from bloggerland, be it on blogwalking or in the updating department. Coz that only meant I've was having a life or busy spamming the Twitter timeline, ha ha.

But hey, I'm back now -- still in one piece, alhamdulillah -- from a week long in India. Most people reaction's when they knew I was heading to India were somehow expected; and the most FAQ was : "Why India? Why?"

I asked them back; "Why not India?" while giving a meek-trying-to-be-confident smile.

They voiced out their fears of some place they have never been to; the same fear I actually have before the departure day itself.

Therefore I hope, in the next few entries, bear with me as I share everything I could, together we get to know India from my point of view. Ach cha? *makes Indian head gesture*

Pergilah tengok, kalau memang follow drama Nur Kasih dari mula.
Pergilah tengok, kalau memang fanatic fan of Remy Ishak, Tiz Zaqyah & Fizz Fairuz.

I won't do any spoilers here, so don't worry.

I didn't plan to watch, it was eons since I last catch a movie. But I was in Sunway Pyramid earlier for a department dinner. Saje walk in and found out ada couple of seats left, bought it and scan through the twitter timeline to see the earlier reviews of people who've watched the movie.

Rata-rata bilang mata merah, nangis sedu-sedan selepas habis movie.

I wasn't into this idea of crying much lately -- so, okaaaayyyy.

Starting cerita, okay sebak jap.
Bergenang air mata but takat bergenang ah.
Sebab scene anak yatim memujuk ayah yang masih separa in denial, come on -- tipu ah kalau tak sebak tengok anak kecil cuba memahami perasaan orang dewasa.

Then ada happy scenes, funny ones, fighting scenes also got. I didn't forsee the twisted part of this story so it was nice. Transition of each scenes and the scenic views of each location memang truly has Khabir Bhatia's signature all over. Terbaik.

Overall, I didn't cry, so bravo me eh?
Haha.

It's a good film, storyline kuat and like I said, you won't expect this is a story in a story.

Hike Like A G2 : Korbu & Gayong Conquered!

A week has passed but I still have my knocks and bruises to remind me of my last hike. At times I wonder what do I get in return from all that, what was I trying to prove, or how I end up climbing two peaks instead of one.

Yes, I did just all that coz that is what satisfies me, being high on the peak, after all the struggle climbing and surviving the stays in the woods, the harsh weather and befriending strangers. In the end I realised I wasn't trying to prove anything to anyone -- it's purely for my own.

Mount Korbu is located in Perak and is the highest peak of the Titiwangsa Mountains (Banjaran Titiwangsa). It is also the second highest mountain in Peninsular Malaysia, standing high at 2183m after Mount Tahan (2187m).

If you asked me, it never occurred to me that I would successfully reached Korbu's peak in one piece, let alone conquering Mount Gayong too. Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, my gratitude for the Al-Mighty and the team for making it happen and kept us away from harm.

I got to be honest, pendakian kali ini terlalu, terlalu mencabar. Nekad Along, I'll stop hiking for awhile after this expedition. Yes, it was THAT tough.

First thing first, we had to leave behind Abang Ros who sprained his ankle after an hour's hike. Along agak terkilan dan sedih at that time. Selama ini, semua gunung yang Along panjat tak pernah tanpa Abang Ros. It was my first dugaan as I 'lost' my sifu there. Abang Ali was kind enough to accompany Abang Ros while letting us go ahead.

We left our cars at the Ulu Kinta Dam, which was a half an hour drive from the main entrance.

Time ni tengok empangan dekat-dekat pun dah excited -_-"

We got ready, packed our bag, hoping that the weather would turn out alright for us as it rained earlier. I could see the dark clouds hovering over us but we just had to start our hike by hook or by crook. It was 9 am as we made our way.

Then it started to rain. Very heavily. We knew it was the rainy season but it was truly a different experience to brave the downpour while making your way in a very unfamiliar place.

We crossed rivers and battled with leeches in the rain. We drank,ate and rested also in the rain. It felt as if the rain didn't show any sign of stopping during the 8-9 hours of hiking. Our exhaustion took its toll when one of our member, Mael fell and injured himself. We just knew we couldn't rush in the bad weather so we silently prayed we'll made it before dark to our first campsite of the day, Kem Seroja.

It was around 6 pm when we safely arrived at the campsite. Alhamdulillah, it stopped raining and we quickly put up our fliers and sorted out our rations and cooking utensils. As Camp Seroja was very much nearby to a river, our water source was aplenty! I recalled that day was the only day I took bath in the icy cold water -_-"

We managed to prepare our dinner in time despite there were just 3 ladies this time,all thanks to the guys who run back and forth for lighting and water fetching.

And during dinner time was when we get to know other members of the team -- as this time RAKAN LLM is joined by outsiders (who are very much experienced than us). Slept at 9pm, something which is so impossible if I'm at home, hehe.

The very next morning, we got ready for the real thing - the Korbu peak itself. Left some of our rations behind to lighten our burden and because we'll only be spending a night at the peak. We left Camp Seroja around 10 am.

As predicted, it rained heavily again throughout our hike. The trail was somehow friendlier than the day before until we reached to the last water point.

The hike from Camp Seroja to the last waterpoint took us approximately 6 hours. We were pretty determined to reach the peak before night time arrive, not knowing what was in store for us.

An hour later, we reached Puncak Botak or Puncak Tipu. It was the last clear area before Korbu so we took the chance to gain back our energy before the last all out hike.

This aint the peak of Korbu yet -_-"

We were told the trail would be tough -- in the words of the mount sifu "Trek lutut kamu cecah ke dagu. Rasakan!"

Nearing the peak view, subhanallah.

The sun set on us and we were forced to continue climbing despite in the dark. With so little lights from our headlights, I managed to be among the earliest to reach the peak together with Fairuz, Abang Nasir and Nizam. We clocked in at 8.10 pm, all drenched wet from the again downpour.

Another four members made it 15 minutes later. But sadly the others didn't made it. They stayed near Puncak Botak as it was too dark and it was just too risky as the rain got heavier than ever.

Since we got separated, so does our ration and supplies. We just had to made do with what we have, even it meant being sacred with the water usage and cooking without oil -_-"

Still, the dinner that night was just delicious haha.

The next morning, while waiting for the second team to reach the peak, we had the best of our time enjoying the panoramic sunrise view of Perak. If only I could find the exact words to describe how it felt being up there. I felt like an eagle, only without wings. I walked hastily from one clear area to another just to enjoy the view from each point. Subhanallah - I'm just a speck in the sea of greens.

We were later joined by the second team who didn't make it to the peak last night. Reunion and camera happy altogether!

The team then decided to continue to hike to Mount Gayong which was just a 2 hours hike away from Korbu. It downed on me that I have to make a decision to follow them or be left behind. I hesitated coz I did told myself that I was there for Korbu only, not Korbu AND Gayong.

But majority won and I know deep inside me was eager to see Korbu peak from another peak, heh.

Hiking Mount Gayong sounded easy when they kept saying "Ala,dua jam je. Dua jam je." But none of them told me how Mount Gayong was full of puncak tipu. You know, when you thought you reached the peak, but it isn't yet. Boleh gila jap okay?

But alhamdulillah, I made it :)

Didn't stay long in Gayong as we need to make our way back to Korbu, and later to Camp Seroja. Estimated an hour BUT IT RAINED HEAVILY, slowed us down -- and I realised I was having that time of the month! DOUBLE BUMMER!

Us in Korbu peak -- drenched wet. Packed and left to meet up the second team who are waiting for us. I might looked all smiles here, but only they knew how I struggled with the cold and pain. AND BOY WAS I HUNGRY AT THAT TIME :(

I couldn't move at one point because of the cold, but the team took care of me, by giving extra food & jackets to ease my menstrual pain :(

As I'm writing this all down, I couldn't believe I survived all that -- especially the experience of having menses (which I hope won't happen ever again next time) during hiking -- but like I said, it was truly an experience for me :)

Hiking down was a big challenge as the trail got slippery indeed in the heavy rain. We look forward to be in the woods rather than the open trail as it was easier with the trees covering our the path a bit.

The two pictures above was one of my memorable hike spot. Susah tapi terbaik! Turun dan naik was a challenge as it was a 90 degree stone wall -- dan kita hanya bergantung pada tali dan dahan pokok. I was lucky to have this moment captured, biarpun hanya waktu turun. Percayalah, I miss this moment much.

Then some of our members who were ahead of us took the wrong path and ended being lost for awhile. Lucky they found their way back and was reunited with us again. Upon reaching the last water point, some of us had injuries -- and that included me as well. I fell down and hurt my right knee and it kinda slowed the whole team. It was nearing night time -- and that's when one incident came after another.

First was when the whole team terbau bau yang sangat,sangat wangi. It was not from the smell of the flowers that we found earlier, so it kinda got eerie at that time. We recited Al-Fatihah and doa's as we walked closely to each other -- knowing we shouldn't ask or say anything about the scent.

As we hiked down, somehow two of our members, Kak Ina and Fairuz walked too far ahead of us that we lost them. We were forced to be divided into two groups : one group with the injured members and shall spent the night at Camp Kijang and the other group to go straight ahead to Camp Seroja where Kak Ina & Fairuz were headed to.

It was already 10pm when I was left with the guys in Camp Kijang. With menstrual pain & an injured knee, I was treated like a princess, haha. The guys really took good care of me and I was very thankful of that.

The next morning, after a well rested night, we head to Camp Seroja to meet up with the rest of the team. It took us four hours before reunited with them. Had lunch, packed and headed to where it all started.

Hiking down might be challenging as well hiking up but it took us lesser time for sure. We were happy to see the familiar checkpoints and was very,very much thankful for the kind weather. For the first time during the four days expedition, baru terasa indahnya berpeluh dek cuaca panas :)

It was a nice surprise when Abang Ali showed up halfway through our journey down. He and Abang Ros waited for us and even helped us ladies with our backpacks. I swear Kak Ina & I would have run towards the finishing line, but we took the chance to just walk and shared stories with Abang Ros, once in awhile looking back and feeling proud of what we had went through.

The satisfaction, feeling of achievement as you walked out of the woods is just indescribable. Four days seemed too long for a first timer like me, but it was truly, truly an experience for this one amateur hiker.

I would like to thank Abang Ros, Abang Ali, Abang Man, Sifu, Cik Ju, Abang Zul, Abang Nasir, Mael, Kak Ina, Kak Zu, Fairuz, Nizam, Din, Awe, Arep and Qader for bearing and helping me throughout this memorable hiking experience -- and the Al-Mighty, atas kesempatan menghayati keindahan ciptaanNya.

Kuota untuk panjat gunung lagi tahun ini sudah ditutup (I targeted 2 mountains per year -- ini dah tiga gila!) so you can be assured that you won't be reading any of my hiking stories anymore.

That is if I don't accept their offer to go to Mount Tahan.....or Mount Kinabalu....

Excuse the capslock drama.
I know I could update the last day in a jiffy sebab last day tak buat apa sangat but I just had to do other things.

Like tonnes tonnes of work to do oh the cliche excuse again.
Like organizing a birthday party for a dear colleague
Learning to bake a cake or two.
And madly in love -- (with myself even more haha.)

In other words, its because I actually have a life other than being in front of a laptop 24/7.

Anyways, last day.
Pagi tu semangat bangun sebelum Subuh, packed our stuffs, head down for breakfast and booked a taxi to Pratunam.

Ada apa dengan Pratunam?

ADA PLATINUM MALL!

Platinum Mall kegilaan para wanita yang tak kisah jenama pada harga borong. Sumpah. All those online shops CONFIRM ambik barang kat sini. Ada 6 floors of it, memang kena seharian di situ. Dan of course, kenalah berduit. For my case, sebab nak menghabiskan sisa baht, masuk Platinum Mall umpama mencari sakit jantung haha.

Kiteorang datang awal -- half an hour earlier. Mall pun tak bukak lagi but there were many locals waiting outside. I guess derang nak amik earliest supplies. We walked inside, kedai yang baru 2-3 kerat bukak pun dah bleh wat kiteorang sesak napas apetah lagi menunggu the whole mall to open.

Since I was on the fiirst flight home, I couldn't waste any time. Nanim went crazy with me despite she's on the later flight. Yang lain hilang entah ke mana, haha. Dengan beberapa baht yang ada, we were determined to get everything cheap kalau boleh.

By 11, I said goodbye to the girls and went back to the hotel with Intan. We opted for the tuk-tuk sebab konfem cepat sampai. Turns out the driver knew we were in a hurry so he asked for a higher charge. Marah lah sebab dah half way naik kot! But what to do, asalkan tidak termiss flight.

Sampai hotel, dengan muka marah nak bayar tuk-tuk driver tu, tapi alih-alih dia bagi diskaun. Langsung terus Kap Kun Khap 18 kali gitu. Dasarr!

Since the traffic was smooth sepanjang perjalanan ke airport, we were there quite early ah. Yup, orang lain tarik beg trolly, I was happy enough with my 60liter backpack!

Our flight got delayed an hour (bukan AA la kalau tak delay hihi) and we got bored taking 1001 pictures of ourselves at the airport. Don't worry, I won't spam this entry with the pictures, heh.

If you asked the ladies who had been to Bandung and Bangkok and which would they come back for, most of them chose Bangkok.

Hee, I can't say anything yet as I have never been to Bandung yet tralala.

So that pretty sums up of how the ladies enjoyed shopping in Bangkok.
As for the guys, they don't mind as long as they don't have to follow the ladies during the shopping spree -_-"

Foodwise might be troublesome but if you knew where to look for halal food, then you'd be just fine.
Transportation is not a big issue -- you just need to be firm while haggling.
And the people there, alhamdulillah friendly, despite they don't speak much of English. Yang penting semuanya cakap menda sama "Come come madammmm, cheap cheap sale" haha comel tahu tak?

No outfit posts or the things I bought coz I am like that, very the pemalas. Sorry again to those who asked (and gave up on me hihi)

I'm off to Perak tonight so do expect this blog to be abandoned for another couple of weeks.

Bangkok : Free & Easy Day Three

We left Bangkok Palace Hotel around 8.30 am by renting a van, all excited for Chatuchak. We were informed that Chatuchak only opens at 9 am so when we arrived to the place, there were only a few shops opened -- but enough to make us go ga-ga AH TYPICAL LADIES.

One thing to bear in mind is that despite Chatuchak is opened daily, but most shops are opened ONLY during weekends. So we were lucky to have our Free & Easy on a Saturday as more than 5000 stalls were opened -- JUST FOR US! (okay perasan) And please please wear light! It's freaking humid there, even when the walkways were covered. Despite we were armed with a map of Chatuchak, it ended being an immediate fan for us as we just walked in and out through each soi (lorong). Chatuchak is divided to sections where you can get all the vintage items in one, house decos in next, clothes and clothes on the other side, painting galleries on one side -- rambang mata! On the prices, well typical vendors taking advantages on tourists, so you just have to haggle & bargain till they give you almost half of the first price they mentioned.

It was around noon and we realised we haven't covered half of Chatuchak, sedih weh! Lagi sedih is when you have to remember that you still need money to survive till the journey home haha. So we decided to call it a wrap and head out of Chatuchak.

And you think we are done shopping la eh?
NAHHHH GIRLS WILL ALWAYS BE GIRLS!

Kat luar lagi murah meriaaaaaaaaaaaah! Macam sedih sangat dah habis duit kat dalam Chatucak tu haha. Imagine puffy sleeves blouses RM13 je? Malaysia kemain jual RM30 the cheapest bagai tauuu. And don't get me started on those chunky rings -- gila! Tamau state price but it was super damn cheap. Memang confirm tanak dah beli kat flea market bagai tu, tanak!

Then we were divided into two group. -- others yang masih berduit, semua ke Platinum Mall, and the rest went back to the hotel. Untuk memujuk hati, we girls decided to ride the Tuk Tuk! BUT. IT. WAS. DEMSCARY. Tuhan saja yang tahu how we squeezed ourselves as the tuk tuk went in between two lorries or how we used our imagination hand breaks as a fast car approached us! The tuk tuk driver even got the cheek to honk back a lorry for overtaking us haha.

Senyum kelakar seram namanya ni.

So we went back to our rooms, paraded the stuffs we bought, and the next thing you know, you are out of bahts to even eat out!

Lucky we were prepared for that, so heh, mari melayan instant foods!

Kemain berlambak!

After we ate, we rested -- and waited anxiously for the other group to come back with their hauls. Sue & Sharaf only came back around 8 and immediately invited for dinner outside. It was truly a hard choice to make as we were saving the last few hundred Malaysian Ringgit or enjoying our last night in Bangkok.

Tewas dengan sekelip mata haha!

We went to Sukhumvit as suggested by Sharaf where they have a lot of Arab Soi there -- you know in terms of finding halal food is quite tricky if you don't know the area so it's kinda safer to be in an Arabic surrounding. Kinda.

This was the best tomyam tasted during my stay there -- not quite what I expected but it was nice.
Sue shared her shopping experiences earlier as she went to Platinum Mall,Pratunam. The fashionmall has the biggest wholesale in their 6 storey building and prices ah,harga wholesale!

The girls planned to go the next morning but I can't as I'm on the first flight home.
Sedih kan?
And that night it rained as if it was crying for me.

Eceh, drama.

But it did rain right after we finished our dinner.

I wasn't bothered with the heavy rain. Should I or shouldn't I go to Platinum the next day?

Bangkok : Back & Broke (Day Two)

Day Two saw us having breakfast at 7 am as we have to make a move to the Damneon Saduak Floating Market. The original and only floating market left in Bangkok is an hour and a half journey, which explains the early schedule. Plus, the most suitable time to be at the market is from 8-10 am -- standard pasar time!

There were two entrances to Damneon Saduak Floating Market which were by road or by the canal. But we didn't know that as we were brought to the boat station upon arriving there.

Minus the er,smelly water, we had fun seeing the houses along the canal. Saw kids waving back at us, a temple, houses turned into mini markets, houses with boats lining in their 'porch' and canal junctions. It took us around 15 minutes to reach the Floating Market.

At the first sight of the Floating Market, I expected it to be very happening. Turns out since we came from the other entrance, we were yet to see the boats and all. What welcomed us was a couple with a big snake, where Mila was extremely excited to have the scaly animal around her -_-"

Sue & Sharaf did the same too. I was more concerned of my lilitan selendang than the lilitan ular HAHA NOT FUNNY. We walked and past some souvenir stalls till we reach the heart of the market.

One thing you MUST try is their sticky rice with mango -- sometimes with added coconut milk. It's around 20-10 baht, depending on the mango used or you are so cheapskate you wanna bargain everything kind of people -_-"

Some called it the Pulut Pauh. I'm no fan of puluts but it was nice having a taste of it -- speshly the mangoes were sweet enough to compliment the sticky rice.

We then made our way to Mak Yah Muslim Restaurant to have our lunch. Surprisingly we have yet to taste the best Tom Yam despite the recipe came from Thailand, but we ate heartily licin pinggan mangkuk bagai.

After lunch we then went for a tour visit to Vimarnmek Mansion -- the world's largest teak mansion it claimed to be. Since we were not allowed to take pictures (it was a private tour) so I'm sharing this image taken from Google -- just so how you know how it looks like.

It has 81 rooms and has become Thailand's first handcraft museum too as it stores the Queen's handicrafts masterpieces such as Thai Silks, the Golden first aid kit and neillowares just to name a few.

Next was a visit to the Gem Gallery, the biggest jewel store (er not sure in the world, but yeah, it's huge) -- but if you are not a gem/jewelery person like yours truly, you might find this visit quite unnecessary okay ayat sangat tak bersyukur dapat holiday free -_-"

The next stop was to MBK Mall!
This is where everyone kenot tahan already! Be it the guys and the ladies, semua gembira jumpa shopping mall! Takbleh tahan dah! Murah je beli, beli je murah!

I managed to tahan juga, sebab dah termakan kata-kata tour guide that Chatuchak has more varieties & cheaper stuffs. Terbabas sikit sikit je, ampun.

If not for the curfew time given by our tour guide while at MBK, we would have forgotten to have our dinner. So for the last night of dinner being prepared for us, we head over to Al-Hilal Muslim Restaurant.

And that was pretty much of our Day Two. We went back to the hotel, crashed Nanim's room, goofed around while planning for the Free & Easy Day Three.

Bangkok : Back & Broke (Day One)

I know I got to start somewhere on my recent Bangkok trip -- but to choose over more than a thousand of fabulous pictures of us and Bangkok beauties (be it the ladyboys & the places) -- it takes time and effort,man! :P

So the company treated us for a trip to Bangkok, something that we look forward to ever since it was confirmed. We left on 7th April with two different flight time via Air Asia. I was in the first group, departing at 8.25am. Alhamdulillah, there was no delay or air turbulence whatsoever -- I even dozed off way before the flight took off.

We arrived at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport around 1pm (Thai time). Malaysian time is an hour late from Thailand. Didn't quite noticed the weather while we were inside the building, but once we got into the bus -- boy,bring out your shades baybeh! Scorching hot! Luckily we were already advised to wear light despite there this fella cakap Bangkok is windy AND chilly bagai. See how at night ah, see how.

Before we boarded our bus, we were introduced to Lek, our tour guide for this 4 day trip. Lek was enthusiastic as us, forever amusing us with stories and Thai jokes. We then proceeded to Sophia Restaurant for our first lunch in Bangkok, yay!

After lunch (and that was the last time I got to tweet about it :p), we head for our tour visits which included the Royal Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha, Wat Arun and Wat Phra Keow.

The Grand Palace served as the official residence for the Kings of Thailand back from the 18th century. Ever since that it has become a complex of buildings which are currently still expanding with additional structures. Read the rest of history here.

The weather was superbly hot, hot enough to get heat strokes -- saw a few elder tourists who did. And the palace were so big that we were happy when the tour finally ended. We then walked to Tha Chang jetty nearby for a boat ride. All I could think of was having cold icy drinks I dowanboatridespanasgilaaaaaaargggh.

But somehow the boat ride was nicer than I expected. Everyone was quiet tho, exhausted probably. We saw how some people lived by the river, kids swimming in the smelly water and there were some who lived under the bridges -- that sight made my heart sank.

We came to a stop to feed some fishes in the middle of the river. Those fishes were damn big i don't find the need to feed them weh. I even got splashed right in the face, air busuk yucks! The boat made a U-turn before dropping us to Wat Arun or better know as Temple of the Dawn.

Upon arriving Wat Arun, since everyone was tired, no one bothered to walk around to check out the place. Meanwhile Sue & I who came out late from the boat were still hyper taking pictures of each other until we saw these cut out cardboards.

Hyper.

Sue's husband took pictures of us while the others look on and didn't say anything about paying before taking pictures. So imagine our shock when a guy came up to us, asking us to pay 40baht each. 40baht = RM4. Then only the group told us that everything there has to be paid, even when taking pictures, argh!

I was traumatised ever since -_-"

We spent half an hour there before proceeding to the River City building. Little did we know we will be reunited with the other group so I was happy to see the other girls again.

You know the more girls we have, the merrier the photo sessions it would be if you know what I mean :P

Both groups then proceeded to have our dinner spread. And by saying a spread, it was really a spread! Yours truly makan tambah sampai tiga kali hihi. We were also entertained by their cultural dancers after the dinner.

Now that our stomachs were full, we then head back to our hotel -- Bangkok Palace Hotel. There's a story of this hotel and it need a special entry of its own, so remind me to do so eh? :P

Since it was still early to call it a night, Sue's husband -- Sharaf, who had been in Bangkok previously, suggested that we went to Patpong, a night market. We rent a big van, which was surprisingly cheap (after a lot of bargaining done by Sharaf tho). Since there were 10 of us, each of us has to pay 60baht -- pergi dan balik.

Patpong is similar to our Petaling Street, I guess. But it was more open as there were bars & club along the market. You can easily go to any sex shows offered, or take a peek inside as like I said, the doors to the bars & club were open like what je. The sex shows might not amused us (ewah!) but the ladies, or shall I say, the lady boys did a pretty good job on being erm,womanly? Sexy tak payah cerita. Sometimes tak tau pun tu lelaki until he/she called out for us -- kemain kepit suara taww.

We didnt buy much from there as we were told Chatuchak has the same products sold in Patpong, but with cheaper prices. Ingat senang ke tahan godaan? But we did,haha. Went back to the hotel around midnight and very much looking forward the next day's activities.

First two picture was with The Venopian Solitude, before she flew back to Japan. And later hung out with the Persetankan crews -- Farah is 7 months preggers but hubster Nizam's flaunting every bit of his 'baby' bump!

So I'm guilty as charged.
I mean, not every day (obviously!) I'm at Gravy Baby but as long as I can be there, I will.
When there's an event -- dan selalunya tak pernah-lah tak ajak teman-teman lain, you know sekali jumpa senang gather terus.
Just so happen (lucky me!) that whenever I'm there, the friends are there too.

This was last Wednesday, where I decided to meet up with Chics & Kak Sam for lunch. Kat mana, ha, kat rumah Kak Sam, tahu? It was my second time with them -- first was with Peej around (read here) -- and since Along cemburu sangat tak dapat lepak lama during the first lunchdate, I decided to take the day off for this one. Sanggup.

That day, Kak Sam made us Mee Kuah. I remembered eating sampai habis kuah, tambah banyak kali, ratah daging, udang sampai tak ingat kena kongsi dengan Chics. Tipu. Chics & Kak Sam memang kasi Along makan banyak -- terasa disayangi sungguh.

Broga, Again.

My last Broga encounter was two years ago *click here* with Azie and Man. Little did I know that was my kick start to my mountain adventures. Sumpah Along tersenyum sendiri bila baca that first Broga entry as I can still recall everything like it was just yesterday.

Hakikatnya Azie dan Man are now married and counting days to their first newborn arrival.
See how super fast time flies eyh? ;)

So this time, I joined Kak D, Yous, Wani and Atun who were all first timers to Broga Hill. They planned every single thing -- from preparing sandwiches and setting alarm at three am! Don't mess with excited people, I warn you.

I was told by other friends that Broga is usually packed on weekends but I thought it couldn't be THAT packed lah.
Plus kiteorang gerak keluar at 4 am, konfem ah tak ramai ah nanti.
Kan?

Boy, I was so.effin.wrong.

There were buses of people and the oil palm estate became jam-packed with cars!
Geez -- korang ni takde kerja lain ke ha nak pepanjat awal pagi ni?

Eh, cakap orang.
Diri sendiri pun sama -_-"

Anyhows, we started climbing up in a hurry since there were people behind us -- kinda pressuring much, speshly the college students who were such in a hurry seriously I don't know why -- macam lah Broga tu hilang kalau lambat-lambat.

So if you wanna have a laid back climb with no pressure and less noise, let them pass. We did just that. Last-last dapat gak catch up dengan bebudak yang tak menyempat sangat tu, heh.

Reached the first top safely around 6.30 am. Gelap pekat. Tapi puas hati. Only thing that was bothering me -- it was damn noisy meh!

See. Macam pasar malam dah behind us. Itu yang terjangkau dek flash light camera. Yang belakang batu, atas batu ready nak berkokok bagai -- not in the picture.

As the day got brighter sans the anticipated sunrise ( it was cloudy that day), I could see clearly the faces behind all the ruckus *sambil buat muka* and other climbers who just arrived.

And that includes my long-time-no-see collegemate - Nadek!

Reunion kejap. Ingat senang ke nak jumpa dia ni?

Along and Yous tukang makan, tukang bawa, tukang komplen dush dush.

Balik time. But that wasn't the end of us, as we head off to Sungai Congkak later that day. I was on a zombie mode that day, kerja nak tidur je. So while the ladies had fun in the icy cool water, I dozed off with no care in the world. Hence the zero pictures of Sungai Congkak *tipu tipu*

I got to say my thanks to Kak D, Yous, Atun and Wani for inviting me along, jangan serik ah ajak Along dan main pepanjat lagi ni -- who knows pasni Along akan ada geng nak panjat gunung lak, ye? ^^

Why Our Search for Perfection Fails Us

Tonight, over a couple of cocktails, one of my good friends spilled her guts to me about all of her failed attempts to find the perfect lover. Although her story was about her unique personal experiences, I couldn’t help but feel like I had heard the same story told by others in completely different circumstances a hundred times before.

It’s a story about the endless quest for perfection. And I think it carries a valuable life lesson, so I’d like to retell it to you in my own words.

The Perfect Woman

Once upon a time, an intelligent, attractive, self-sufficient woman in her late twenties decided that she wanted to settle down and find a husband. So she journeyed out into the world to search for the perfect man.

She met him in New York City at a bar in fancy hotel lobby. He was handsome and well spoken. In fact, she had a hard time keeping her eyes off of him. He intrigued her. It was the curves of his cheek bones, the confidence in his voice, and the comfort of his warm, steady hands. But after only a short time, she broke things off. “We just didn’t share the same religious views,” she said. So she continued on her journey.

She met him again in Austin a few months later. This time, he was an entrepreneur who owned a small, successful record label that assisted local musicians with booking gigs and promoting their music. And she learned, during an unforgettable night, that not only did they share the same religious views, he could also make her laugh for hours on end. “But I just wasn’t emotionally attracted to him,” she said. So she continued on her journey.

She met him again in Miami at a beachside café. He was a sports medicine doctor for the Miami Dolphins, but he easily could have been an underwear model for Calvin Klein. For a little while, she was certain that he was the one. And all of her friends loved him. “He’s the perfect catch,” they told her. “But we didn’t hang in the same social circle, and his high profile job consumed too much of his time,” she said. So she cut things off and continued on her journey.

Finally, at a corporate business conference in San Diego, she met the perfect man. He possessed every quality she had been searching for. Intelligent, handsome, spiritual, similar social circles, and a strong emotional connection – perfect. She was ready to spend the rest of her life with him. “But unfortunately, he was looking for the perfect woman,” she said.

The Story of Our Lives

As human beings, we often chase hypothetical, static states of perfection. We do so when we are searching for the perfect house, job, friend, or lover.

The problem, of course, is that perfection doesn’t exist in a static state. Because life is a continual journey, constantly evolving and changing. What is here today is not exactly the same tomorrow.

That perfect house, job, friend, or lover will eventually fade to a state of imperfection. Thus, the closest we can get to perfection is the experience itself – the snapshot of a single moment held forever in our minds – never evolving, never growing.

So rather than chasing an imaginary perfection, let’s start chasing life by flipping past the imperfections found on the cover of every entity we encounter and into the blank pages of possibility waiting beneath the cover that will eventually tell the story of our lives.

With a little patience and an open mind, over time, I bet that imperfect house evolves into a comfortable home. That imperfect job evolves into a rewarding career. That imperfect friend evolves into a steady shoulder to lean on. And that imperfect lover evolves into a reliable lifelong companion.

My blog is a total mess, all jumbled up.
Great things happened back to back and I was enjoying everything till I had little time to share in here -- which is good-lah kan?

But even if you didn't noticed or at least mind about what's in here, I do.

Coz this is where I reminisce back some of the fond memories, like updating Edy & Kepet's solemnization before putting up this post.

Though my hijab styles evolved since then, Edy's signature smile stays :')

I need not to share how we first met, clicked and bear with each others attics. I could be garang or cembeng with her (but for a reason ah,bukan sesaje) yet she still knows I do care for her.

I do hope she knows.

Coz I fail big time at showing that -_-"

And Edy knows well I can't say no to a dear friend.

I might merungut,membebel but I will do it.

I finally get to meet Halily & Bali's precious princess, lil' Naurah Delyssa -- and I couldn't help but squeal in delight upon seeing this happy family entering Gravy Baby unannounced :')

It has been quite awhile since I last met Lily, so it was really a nice surprise seeing her again -- rasa cam baru semalam pegang perut Lily. (Boring sungguh ayat cliche tu,Long. Tapi betulla!)

This was exactly a week ago.
Unplanned -- as usual.

But what the heck, since it might be the only chance to see some of the Harimau Malaya boys in action as I can't exactly recall when was the last time I actually went to a stadium, watching a live game, more so supporting the local team. *boo me*

That night too was Safee Sali's last game for Malaysia as he's now playing for Pelita Jaya -- a loss for us now but I support the outside exposure that he's aiming for :')

And guess what, I discovered that the Malaysian team has their own Peter Crouch in G. Mahathevan! He made the other players look like dwarfs in the field, hee.
Eh you know what I mean kan?
Minat keeper je ye?
Tsk.

The Malaysian team won two nil -- making it worth buying the imitation jersey and the RM20 tix.
Yeah, I'm so Malaysian that I have to 'ungkit', haha.

Angry Birds Lose Feathers in A Masquerade Night

Ever since I joined the company two years ago, I had the opportunity to experience Yee Sang every year without fail.

This year, Yee Sang came early as we celebrated the Lunar New Year together with the company annual's dinner.

And this year too, we broke the tradition by having the dinner at a hotel -- usually it would take place at the CEO's home -- so that's a whole new reason to look forward too!

We might questioned a lot(!) on why was Grand BlueWave Shah Alam was chosen as the venue but surprisingly the food there was satisfiying enough to our forever pickle, fault finding attitude with the management's choices :P

Oh, remember when I blogged about the dinner's theme?
Apparently our department yang paling beriya menyewa costumes bagai -- going all out, which kinda represent perangai kami yang sebenar compared to other departments which are quite reserved, heh.

But it was all worth the effort, coz we bagged all the cool awards (Best Dressed Female & Male etc) ! ^^

We had our red carpet moments -- with photogs waiting for us, a slide show of the red carpet moments so we get to see everyone's masquerade masks, lots of vouchers,awards and cash given away that night and of course, a lucky draw that consists of an Ipad and many other things which does not matter as everyone was aiming for the Ipad :P

Ipad or no Ipad, we enjoyed ourselves much and couldn't stop talking about it -- I remembered sleeping at 3 just because we just had to do the post mortem that very night haha! Kudos to the Hotstuff Club for organising a night to be remembered :')

How was your Lunar New Year celebration?

I stayed behind for a friend's wedding, so to kill time I decided to 'makan besar' with the friends the whole day of Chinese New Year's eve. First off was lunch with some of the geng gunung. Kak Ina treated us lunch in Puchong, yippie yeay!

Then it was dinner time -- yee sang meatballs -- with these lovely people. And yes, I didn't bother to change too ^^

I'll update on the wedding soon, from the make up sesh by Jom Rias to the solemnization ceremony where I met an old friend to the grand reception slash reunion of friends. As always, I got to wait for the rest of the pictures from the others, so till then enjoy the long hols,peeps!

Er, you do know that I'm on leave till Monday? ^^

Get your own cup -- smaller means less weight, me thinks. But it's not much difference of sizes tho here =P

Choose your preferred frozen yogurt flavor.
You can mix the flavors as you wish too -- and yes, DIY your own froyo!

One section of toppings: The fruits.

Another section ada honey stars, marshmallows, nata de coco you name it.

Choc/Strawberry sauce also available, and top it with sprinkles bagai.

Then you weigh it - its RM5.30 per 100gram if I'm not mistaken.

And you enjoy it with good friends -- admiring, comparing and scooping each others loot ^^

My first Tutti Frutti -- I remembered taking Chocolate with Strawberry Banana flavor. While the choc tasted just I want it to be, I was disappointed with the latter. Sebab macam tak rasa Strawberry ataupun Banana, haha. Topped it with slices of banana (hidden), grapes, raisins, nata de coco and some marshmallows.

Anyone who knew me well would know I just can't resist the mix of chocolate, banana and raisins!

My froyo might look a bit blah but I don't effin care -- in fact I might choose the same flavor and toppings for my i-don't-know-when-next-visit to TF! ^^

Coz' I'm happy being loyal that way ^^

Mount Rajah -- all cramped up in this one entry, believe it or not.

When I realised my last mount hike was July last year, I kept bugging the LLM guys to organise a hike trip to just anywhere. An opening for the new year. A reunion for us. Anything. As long as I am back in the woods. Or reasons for me to use the newly bought Deuter backpack. Or seeing back the familiar faces that I miss much. A-ny-thing.

Luckily they had the same idea too and quickly suggested Mount Rajah in Bentong,Pahang. To make it more interesting, they suggested climbing at night!

None of us has ever been there so we were pretty hyped making plans and started fitness training and all. I slacked on the fitness bit, relying on the badminton sessions that I joined twice a week. Which is so not good since it has been a 5 months since; but me being me -- do first, survive later on -- I prepared myself whatever I just can.

The day finally came and it was down to 12 of us. Supposedly there were more joining this trip but they had emergency calls to Kedah and as much as I wish they could be with us, I was pretty much happy knowing I was on my way to another mount hike ^^

Straight after work on Friday, we drove ourselves to Bentong in 3 cars, including TujuhSepuluh. We stopped at Genting Sempah to pick up Abang Ali and had our dinner there. That's when I get to know some newbies who were joining us, sort of an ice breaking session alright. At least Kak Ina & I won't be the only ladies on board, heh.

We arrived at the Chamang Waterfalls -- 8km from Bentong town around 9.30pm. Unloaded our stuff in a place, changed clothes and repacked, group briefing and off we started out journey to Pengkalan Balak approximately at 10.15 pm.

It was midnight when we reached Pengkalan Balak, the last flat surface before we ventured into the woods. We rested for awhile, took photos -- still goofing around till the guide reminded us that we still have a long way to go.

After Pengkalan Balak, our target was to reach the campsite before 5am. But climbing in the dark with so little light was quite a challenge. Since we can't estimate what's ahead for us, I personally felt it was just tough. Not knowing much is a good thing so we don't pressure ourselves unnecessarily.

But when you climbed for hours and still not see anything or barely see things around you, you have this mental block and view and it kinda could pull you back at times.

I guess I was just plain lucky to have them around -- there are times I was slacking, I climbed painstakingly slow and not communicating with others but they managed to put a smile on my face whenever they could. I am very manja that way,hihi.

We finally arrived at the campsite around 5 am after a freaking 5 hours of climbing. We had to cross over a river to reach the campsite -- and the river sounded so fierce in the dark. It was not helpful to know that there were a few drown cases in that river so just imagine how I was extra scared of slipping while crossing.

Both Kak Ina & I had to be in the 'kitchen' later on so we took a quick power nap while the others set up tents & unpacked stuffs.

Slept around 6 am after preparing the food and woke up 3 hours later to happy chatters of the group members who were happy to find food, all cooked for them =P

I cleaned up, had breakfast and got ready for the peak.

The river doesn't look fierce much in broad daylight tho. Still we had to be careful with slippery stones and unseen whirlpool in random spots. I was tempted to have a dip but it was too icy cold, I assured myself it would be just nice once I came down from the peak. Excuses.

Only 9 of us went up for the peak -- and it took us a good 5 hours to reach there. The trail was tough, specially when it comes to climbing the steep vertical slope on slippery rocks using fasten ropes and roots.

Along the way, the guides elaborated the infamous story of how students were hit by lightnings while at the peak of Mount Rajah. It brought shivers to the bones yet we were thankful that the weather was pretty friendly with us that day. Still, we had to be careful coz we just don't know what was in store for us up there.

After a long 5 hours climb, we successfully reached the 1685m Mount Rajah -- and boy, it was just an indescribably feeling being up there!!

While you are up there, you could see the view of Bentong and even Kuala Lumpur in a distance! There's Batu Petir too -- which only surfaced after the lightning incident.

We head back to the campsite -- going downhill is so much faster so it took us only 3 hours. I had a quick rinse in the river since it was getting dark and prepared myself for the journey home. Yup, we were going back that night so it meant another night hike for us all.

It was super deadly tiring ordeal for me -- I almost gave up when my headlight batteries died on me.

Even Abang Man had a moment when he felt it was a never ending journey down.

But we reached back to our cars around 1 am, with a few scratches and small injuries for some of us. Fairuz droved TujuhSepuluh back home for me while I passed out at the back, hehe.
Reached Kajang around 3 -- super hungry and aching body all over.

I spent the whole Sunday trying to recharge myself -- only to find out later I got gastritis :( Double blow it may be, but it was truly, truly an experience that I will never ever forget.

If they were to invite me for another night hike, I would only consider if I had proper headlights and the team was not rushing around for time.

Still, it was truly a grand opening for this year's mount climbing activities for me -- and I couldn't do it without the LLM Rakan Gunung, the experienced guides and of course, the Al-Mighty for the safe journey back & forth :')

'Aliya in (Melaka) Wonderland!

When I tweeted my excitement on going to Melaka Wonderland sometime ago, I received quite a few replies saying that the place wouldn't live to my expectations. It nearly got the best of me since I thought of bringing 'Aliya to the place -- and if Adik tak happy, no point of going there lah,kan?

But I went ahead, nevertheless.

Plus, I was with the QK ladies -- a very lively,excited bunch -- tak kira ah di mana mereka berada.
So I know I will be A-okay.
And Adik will instantly get new other sisters sampai lupa Along sendiri, percayalah =P

We spent the whole broad daylight there, repeating water slides, lazing around under the shy Melaka sun and enjoying water concert/mascot shows in the man made ocean sampai jari kecut seribu.

We head to Melaka town, aiming for the famous cendol durian but got lost in Jonker Street, which we didn't mind much. Jonker Street is a must stop whenever you are in Melaka -- and that made me miss the Askar's even more :')

We got the cendol we wanted and later went on a road spree finding the Assam Pedas for dinner. Albeit the late dinner and being worn out from the excitements, Adik behaved well -- sebab Kak Long promised her more if she does, heh heh heh.

Overall, I must thank Linda & Kak Dee -- and the QK ladies too -- for inviting me along and considering much about everything -- speshly bout my lil sister's comfort! Next next time, must singgah my house in Seremban, okay?

Melaka Wonderland might not be as great as Sunway Lagoon (yet), but with the right friends and companions, you don't care much as long as you enjoy your time there.

I rarely watch TV these days, let alone the latest American Idol auditions.
So to learn about Medina from AI is somehow a sign, or an assurance for me that people like Medina still exists.

He might be a rare gem, but I believe there's a bit of him in each one of us -- to be by our loved ones for better and especially; for worse :')

This was taken during lunch hour just effin now.
The colleagues and I went to this costume shop in Hartamas and rented ourselves dresses for our company's annual dinner tomorrow night.

Since the dinner ada tema bagai -- it's Masquerade Night by the way -- excuseeeee us for being so semangat.

(Oh well, saya terpengaruh. Saya bayangkan nak pakai maxi dress je haish boringnya kau ni Long.)

By the way, this is not the dress I rented, okay?
Was trying it out for fun.
One of the brondong manis tried this ala military uniform and looked dashingly handsome in it, haihhh konfem esok malam ramai lah yang amik gambar dengan kau, nak.

But the dress I rented --- er,seriously tatau camne nak pakai pun, main bantai sewa je haha.
Even the mask that will go with the dress pun, Along pinjam je dari Naja nanti so yeahh, see how-lah tomorrow okay?

Will blog about the costume shop, the dress & the dinner when I got the time!

If you noticed, bila tajuk-tajuk entry kat sini dah semacam, there are things close to me bothering me much.
I wish I could say it bluntly out loud, but I dont know why I still care about who reads here and why I mind the unmentioned feelings -- even when MY feelings kalian pijak campak ke sana sini.

Okay okay, before that, I don't intend to sound too serious in here.
Just jotting down some whatevers, bear with me for awhile eh eh eh.

I swear, I have tonnes to share here.
Even 'Aliya asked many times when will I give her the pictures we took when we were in Melaka Wonderland few weeks ago. "Adik nak upload kat Facebook!" katanya. Meaning I've to go back home ah, since yes, it has been awhile too since I went back to Seremban.

And yes, I no longer commute Seremban-Kelana Jaya anymore. My heart still race a beat whenever I see a RapidKL bus coming, thinking I might miss the bus -- but the fact I now need not to do that took some time to settle in my mind.
Lama-lama biasa ah.
Setahun berulang, sure fond memories I had.
(yeah, righhht.)

Anyways, 2011 has been, hmm, well, fairly good to me so far.

I would wanna say awesome, tapi tipu gila la coz I had my fair share of crying.
Sikit.
Sikit je nangis.
Redha meredhai, Tuhan je tahu.

So it's cool to say that it has been fairly good la kan?
Seimbang.
Biarpun tak seimbang mana, since there were more goods than bads hehehehe.

I was out and about with friends, accompanying a bride to be for a test make up, outstations with the colleagues -- even work has been great (new promotion, new salary, alhamdulillah!) and of course, I recently conquered another mountain!

So that would be a back to back entry if I just had the time to update.
I will, insyaAllah -- and not just a cheating Wordless Wednesday post =P

These days I try hard not to mourn long -- be it over my problem or problems caused by others.

I cry, (yes I must cry) while facing it, settle selagi boleh (with help,of course!) and bila takleh settle, I get over it -- quick.
Even with a heavy heart.
Specially when things don't go my way.
It may stay in my mind for a few days, but I know it will eventually go away.
Out of my heart, out of my mind.

But what made me stay grounded, or think twice before saying something nasty, or succumb to the lowest level are the worthy people behind me -- who supported and reasoned out with me not to just do the opposite which is mengikut kata hati yang emosi mati.

(I can never do this battle alone, I swear. Sigh)

And of course, tiap yang terjadi ada reason yang tersendiri.
Obviously the good reasons -- reasons that I might not see before, reasons to move on, reasons to be more thankful and a WHOLE lot more.

I mean, it wouldn't be right if I were to be sad over some silly people when a friend is having difficulties in her pregnancies, or someone who lost their parents -- or do I need to compare to the other part of the world that are suffering?
You know what I mean kan?

On a another note, having abilities or advantages doesn't give you the right to judge and belittle other people, specially those you know their weaknesses.
Never. ever. do. that.
Tak kiralah tengah marah ke, tengah hormon tak stabil ke, janganlah bijak sangat letak hukum sana sini, doa balasan itu ini.

Lupa ke kita ada Tuhan?

Ini mental note untuk kamu juga, Long!

I could go on and on, but I don't like much when I write this way.
I wanna put pictures and share happy happy moments only so yeah --- this is only my own mental note, coretan yang mungkin immature to some, coretan yang please-lah jangan ah terasa that I'm talking about you.
Or you.

And whoever you may be.

But if adaaaa jugak yang nak terasa, lantak ah.

I'm Not A Love Poet - Rudy Francisco

I want you to bite my lips until I can no longer speak,
and then suck my ex-girlfriend's name out of my mouth just to make sure that she never comes up in our conversations.

I'm gonna be honest,
I'm not really a love poet.

In fact, every time I try to write about love,
my hand's cramped,
just to show me how painful love can be.

Sometimes my pencils break,
just to prove to me that every now and then that love takes a little bit more work than you plan.

See, I heard that love is blind,
so I read all my poems in braille.

And my poems are never actually finished because true love is endless.

See, I always believe that true love is kind like a supermodel before she's airbrushed.
It's pure,
and imperfect-
just the way that God intended.

I'm gonna be honest; I'm not a love poet.

But if I was to wake up tomorrow morning and decide that I really want to write about love but I swear that my first poem,
it would be about you.

About how I love you the same way how I learned to ride a bike: Scared.
But reckless.
With no training wheels, or elbow pads, so my scars can tell the story of how I fell for you.

You see, I'm not really a love poet.

But if I was, I'd write about how I see your face in every cloud
and your reflection in every window.

You see, I've written like a million poems hoping that somehow,
maybe someway you'll jump out of the page and be closer to me because if you were here
right now i would massage your back until your skin sings songs that your lips don't even know the words to --
until your heartbeat sounds like my last name
and you smile like the pacific ocean-
I wanna drink the sunlight in your skin.

If I was a love poet,
I'd write about how you have the audacity to be beautiful,
even on days when everything around you is ugly.

You see, I'd write about your eyelashes and how they're like violin strings that play symphonies every time you blink-
if I was a love poet, I'd write about how I melt in front of you like an ice sculpture every time I hear the vibration in your voice,
And whenever I see your name on the caller id,
My heart -- it plays hopscotch inside of my chest.

It climbs on to my ribs like monkey bars and I feel like a child all over again.

I know this sounds strange but every now and then
I pray that God somehow turns you back into one of my ribs
just so I would never have to spend an entire day without you.

But I swear,
I'm not a love poet.

But if I was to wake up tomorrow morning,
And decide that I really want to write about love
you're my first poem;
it would be about you.

And after all of that, she was like;
"So how do you feel about me?"

And I said;

Put it like this,

I wanna be your ex-boyfriend's stuntman.
I wanna do everything that he never had the courage to do, like -- trust you.
I swear that when our lips touched,
I can taste the next 60 years of my life.

And some days I want to swallow stacks of your pictures
just so you can be a part of me for a little bit longer .

If I could I would sample your smile
and then I would let my heart beat do the bass line,
we could create the greatest love song of all time.

Whenever we stand next to each other,
Love.. I was the only one made for you and you can be at last my Etta James.

I'll be oh child when you're in pain or you could be the candy coated drops of rain
Even though it never rains in Southern California.

And together, we could be music.
And when my friends ask if you're my girlfriend,
I'll say; "No. She is my musician."

"And me...I'm her favorite song."
